Specialised Shipbuilding

Building Future-Proof Specialised Vessels and Solutions

Not all vessels are equal — and some missions demand something built from first principles rather than adapted from a standard hull form. Our specialised shipbuilding practice covers the design and construction of technologically advanced vessels that serve the offshore energy, defence, research, and environmental services sectors.

We integrate advanced hull forms with sophisticated marine systems — dynamic positioning, diesel-electric or LNG propulsion, integrated deck machinery, and purpose-built cargo or intervention systems — producing vessels that perform with precision in the conditions they were designed for. Our design teams work in close collaboration with operators from the earliest conceptual stages, translating operational requirements into structural and systems specifications with rigorous discipline.

With full project management from keel-laying to sea trials and regulatory handover, clients receive a single point of accountability across a complex, multi-discipline scope. Our track record spans cable-lay vessels, offshore support vessels, platform supply vessels, dive support vessels, and purpose-built new energy service craft.

Scope Includes

  • Offshore support vessels (OSV/PSV)
  • Dive support and well-intervention vessels
  • Cable-lay and pipe-lay vessels
  • Crane and heavy-lift vessels
  • LNG-fuelled and dual-fuel newbuilds
  • Crew transfer vessels (CTV) for wind farms
  • Environmental response & research vessels
  • Naval and government vessel programmes
Outcome: Purpose-built vessels delivered on schedule with full class certification

Repairs & Upgrades

Extending Asset Life, Maximising Investment Value

Every vessel and offshore asset depreciates — but not every asset needs to be replaced. Our repairs and upgrades practice combines urgent-response drydock capability with structured life-extension and performance-enhancement programmes, giving operators a cost-effective route to continued, compliant operations. Whether a vessel arrives under emergency tow or enters a scheduled five-year special survey, our workforce mobilises quickly and works with precision to minimise out-of-service time.

We also plan and execute complex upgrade programmes that retrofit existing assets with new technology — from exhaust gas cleaning systems and ballast water treatment plants required by evolving IMO regulations, to full propulsion system overhauls and accommodation improvements that extend a vessel's commercial appeal and operational window by years.

What Sets Our Engineering Practice Apart

01

Globally Integrated, Locally Committed

We combine the global engineering network and R&D resources of Seatrium — one of the world's largest offshore and marine groups — with deep local capability and a permanent Brazilian workforce. Our clients get international depth with local accountability, local content compliance, and a team that understands operating in Brazil.

02

Single Accountable Contractor

From concept engineering through construction, system integration, commissioning, and handover, we provide one contract, one team, and one point of escalation. This eliminates the interface risk that frequently drives cost and schedule overruns on complex offshore projects managed across multiple contractors.

03

Safety Leadership at Every Level

Safety is not a department at Seatrium SingMarine Brasil — it is a guiding principle woven into every daily decision. Our HSSE performance metrics are reviewed at board level, our frontline supervisors are empowered to stop work without penalty, and our incident rates consistently outperform industry benchmarks across our project portfolio.

04

Sustainable by Design, Not by Default

Environmental, social, and governance considerations are embedded into how we engineer — not applied retrospectively. We measure and publish our own emissions, maintain transparent supply chain standards, and actively design decarbonisation pathways into the assets and solutions we deliver for clients, supporting their net-zero commitments as well as our own.
